As an artist, I have
expanded my mixed media art into custom one of a kind gourds and wood "Treasure
box" purses.
I really enjoy carving, woodburning, and sculpting. These originally designed gourds and
wood pieces are unique in character and carry on the ancient Hawaiian tradition of
carving. Some of the gourds incorporate sculpted dimentional lids, inlayed surfaces with
collaged and textured interiors. Combining contemporary themes with traditional and
modern methods, I hope my art reflects my appreciation of nature and the beauty of our
islands.
